For specific information refer to 605:10-7-9 &#8211; 605:10-7-10 from the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission rules. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The requirements to apply for either a non-resident or resident license applicant in Oklahoma if you have held or currently holds a real estate license are essentially the same with any differences that are mentioned in this article are pointed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are only eight states who have a reciprocal agreement (non-resident agreement) with Oklahoma. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-non-resident-applicant\">Non-Resident Applicant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you currently hold an active real estate license from another jurisdiction that has been active for at least two out of the last five years. You may qualify to sit for only the <strong>state-specific portion<\/strong> of the real estate exam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>  experience out of the last five Oklahoma does not have a reciprocal (non-resident) agreement with the state you have held or currently holds a real estate license OR if the state you hold license experience from is one of the eight states Oklahoma has a a reciprocal (non-resident) agreement <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the applicant\u2019s real estate sales or broker license<strong> has been active for two out of the last five years<\/strong> and <strong>has not been inactive more than six months before application<\/strong> as an Oklahoma resident applicant<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oklahoma resident applicants<\/strong> that <strong>currently or have had a real estate license in another state<\/strong> commonly ask what they need to do to receive a real estate license in Oklahoma. While the full procedures are laid out in <strong>605:10-7-10<\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/oklahoma.gov\/content\/dam\/ok\/en\/orec\/documents\/meetings\/OREC%20Code%20and%20Rule%20Book%20Nov%201%202022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OREC Code and Rules<\/a>, the two main question themes are the following: \u201c<strong>What real estate classes do I need to take?<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Will I need to take a state exam?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-real-estate-classes-do-i-need-to-take-and-will-i-need-to-take-the-state-exam\">\u201c<strong>What real estate classes do I need to take?&#8221; and &#8220;Will I need to take the state exam?&#8221;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If Oklahoma <strong>has a non-resident agreement<\/strong> with the \u201cstate,\u201d the applicant has or had a real estate license &#8211;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Education required\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proof of completion of at least one (1) continuing education clock hour in each of the following classes Oklahoma-specific subjects\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Broker Relationships Act<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contracts and Forms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Code and Rule Updates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>State Exam\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yes, but only the state portion of the exam. They MAY accept previous education at their discretion; pending the education was not completed more than three years ago (\u00a7858-302 A &amp; (\u00a7858-303 A)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>State Exam\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yes, the entire exam (national &amp; state topics)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-oklahoma-s-reciprocal-real-estate-license-agreements\"><strong>Oklahoma&#8217;s Reciprocal Real Estate License Agreements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Oklahoma has a <a href=\"https:\/\/oklahoma.gov\/content\/dam\/ok\/en\/orec\/documents\/licensing\/Nonresident%20Agreements.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reciprocal agreement<\/a> (non-resident agreement) with the following states:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Alabama<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Arkansas<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Iowa&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Louisiana<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maryland<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nebraska<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>North Dakota<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>South Dakota<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The documentation and procedures for applying can be found in the <strong>OREC Code and Rules<\/strong> under 605:10-7-10 (numbered page 50-52).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The outline above applies only to Oklahoma resident applicants that currently or have held a real estate license in another state.
