Background Check Instructions for Oklahoma Real Estate License Applicants
The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission utilizes IdentoGO to process fingerprint background checks for all original and reinstatement real estate license applicants. IdentoGO collects all costs associated with the national criminal history check (background check). Once you’ve submitted your real estate license application to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC), you can then schedule a time with IdentoGO to process your background check.
Unless you’re seeking pre-approval, we recommend that you submit your real estate license application and a 90-hour Basic Pre-License completion certificate to the OREC at the same time.
If you have any questions, please contact the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission at 405-521-3387.
- Submit your real estate license application to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC)
On the homepage of the OREC website, select the “Apply Now” button under the “Apply for a License” block to complete and submit your real estate license application.
- Schedule a background check with IdentoGO
The background check fee is $60 and is payable to IdentoGO. To schedule an appointment, visit IdentoGO’s website at https://ok.ibtfingerprint.com. On the homepage, select the appropriate green register button. Most people in Oklahoma will select the green button titled “Register for In-State Digital Fingerprinting Services” under the “In-State Digital Fingerprinting Services (Live Scan)” column. On the next page, enter the service code 2B7NR3 and click the Go button. Verify that you are selecting the Real Estate Commission and click the Continue button. Follow the steps to schedule your appointment.
- IdentoGO will submit your background check results to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission
Appointments are expected to last less than 10-minutes. It typically takes less than 72-hours for IdentoGO to submit your national criminal history check to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. After the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC) receives and processes your real estate license application, the OREC will email your candidate ID and instructions on how you can schedule your real estate exam with PearsonVUE.
